Description

This large size luxurious Taznakht pile rug is a striking and hard to find piece. It is thick and dense, offering a soft, cushioned feel underfoot. The rug is woven in two tones — a rich indigo blue and a natural creamy beige — divided across the field to create a bold two-tone effect. Overlapping diamond and chevron patterns in ivory wool run the full length of the rug, crossing over both the blue and cream sections to form a continuous zigzag motif from end to end.

The wool pile is dense and lustrous, with the natural undyed cream sections showing subtle flecks of grey and taupe for added texture and depth. Both ends are finished with a hand-woven flat-weave border in a diamond lattice pattern, and long, loose fringe on both ends, which is included in the measurements.
